937307 7/8 HENRY SCHRADER BALL VALVE Applications Ball valves are used in a wide variety of air conditioning and refrigeration applications. They can be used for both liquid and gas applications. This type of valve is commonly used for isolating purposes. All ball valves are suitable for HCFC and HFC refrigerants, along with their associated oils. The MWP of most valve sizes also allows them to be used for R410A and sub-critical CO 2 applications. Main features Construction features ΤΗσ Bi-directional flow ΤΗσ Indicator on stem shows valve position - open or closed ΤΗσ Fully opened or closed with quarter turn of stem ΤΗσ Positive stem stop ensures precise positioning in the open or closed position ΤΗσ Blow-out proof stem ΤΗσ Ball cavity vented to prevent over-pressure ΤΗσ Vented seal cap ΤΗσ Schrader valve option Sealing integrity features ΤΗσ Premium quality PTFE ball seals ΤΗσ Double O-ring stem seal design ΤΗσ Premium quality neoprene stem O-ring seals ΤΗσ Seal cap gasket bonded into valve body ΤΗτ acts as a secondary seal Technical Specification Allowable operating temperature = -40 oC to +120oC Allowable operating pressure = 0 to 40 barg or 0 to 46 barg, depending on part number. Materials of Construction The components; valve body, valve body adaptor, ball and seal cap are made from brass. The stem is made from plated steel. The pipe extensions are made from copper. The ball seals are made from virgin PTFE, stem O-rings from neoprene and the seal cap gasket from nylon. Installation ΤΗτ Main Issues The valve body must be protected against excessive heat during installation, to prevent damage to the seals.
