Use for the fluxless brazing of copper to copper. CuP6 is a fairly sluggish alloy but will bridge larger joint gaps and is ideal for overhead brazing. Suitable for joints operating down to -10 deg C. Aggressively marketed by CuP Alloys in the early 1980's it superceded the use of the antimony bearing alloy. The most ductile of the silver free alloys.
6.2%P bal Cu
Melting range 710 - 890 deg C
The wide melting range demands rapid heating to prevent liquation.
Do not attempt the brazing of copper to ferrous or nickel based materials due to the formation of brittle intermetallic compounds.
Typical applications include refrigeration components and domestic hot water cylinders
Brazing Temp 760 deg C
Conforms to BS EN 1044 CP203
Available as rod 1.5 - 5.0mm dia and 1.5 - 3.0mm square
